Training

We have scheduled training sessions throughout the year at various members fields. During the heat of the Summer season we usually try to start early enough in the morning so we don’t overheat the dogs in their training. On unusually hot days we might only do retrieves in water ponds.

As we progress into the Fall season we will step up our training sessions to prepare our dogs for the Fall Field Trial and Hunting Seasons.

Notes: Pheasant season is here. Good weather and recent frosts should make scenting good and hunting better. Bud and Steve still will be training during the week and some training and hunting during the weekend. Keep a watchful eye that your dog doesn't become overheated, and like any athlete, keep them well hydrated.
